Brief
To evolve Romantic Travellers Bookazine into a more refined, multi-platform travel publication that captures the emotional side of travel while showcasing luxury destinations in a way that feels editorial, immersive and commercially valuable.
Building on the previous edition, the brief was to improve the overall layout and reader journey, while strengthening the value delivered to partners. Each hotel was to be featured through a four-page editorial spread, supported by a dedicated social media reel and online visibility via Weddings & Honeymoons, ensuring content lived beyond the page.
Destination guides, which were introduced in the previous edition, needed to be carried forward and strengthened to give the bookazine more structure and context. At the same time, the publication had to function as both a premium print product and a connected digital experience, reflecting how modern audiences engage with travel content.
Solution
Just like in 2025, I led a full refresh of the editorial and design direction, focusing on making the content feel more immersive, structured and reader-led.
A dedicated hotel highlight was brought to the forefront of each feature, giving immediate clarity on the property’s defining details while reinforcing its position as the focal point of the story. We refined the destination guide structure, using it to anchor the reader’s journey through the bookazine and create a more natural flow between locations. This is reflected in the contents pages, where destinations are grouped clearly and feel easier to navigate .
The hand-designed maps for each resort were also enhanced, making them more detailed and visually engaging. This added a more bespoke, considered feel to each feature and helped bring the destinations to life in a more tangible way.
From an editorial perspective, I shifted the tone to feel more personal and experience-led. The Editor’s Letter was rewritten to feel more reflective and relatable, setting the tone for the rest of the publication and creating a stronger connection with the reader.
To extend the publication beyond print, every partner received a social media reel and a dedicated feature on the Weddings & Honeymoons website, giving each resort long-term digital visibility. QR codes were used to connect print to video content, allowing readers to move seamlessly between formats and engage more deeply with each destination.
I also worked closely with partners to shape their features into editorial stories rather than traditional advertorials, improving both the reading experience and the perceived value of each placement.
